About Us
Christina Melby is a third generation "thrift store" owner of sorts. Her Grandfather owns a thrift store in Ephrata, Wa., her Aunt operates her own store inside of an antique mall in Cle Elum, Wa. and now she owns and operates The Kids Sale. She started The Kids Sale last year (2008) when she was eight months pregnant with her third child. She and her husband live in Snoqualmie Ridge with their three daughters. Christina has always dreamed of having her own consignment store. Unfortunately, there are bills to pay! She decided to get into the consignment event business instead so that she could continue to work at her full-time job that she has held for nearly 12 years and do the consignment event business on the side.
The Kids Sale held it's first sale in Snoqualmie Ridge on August 8, 2008 and it turned out to be a very popular event! Christina's worst fears that no one would show up to shop were quickly replaced with the reality that there was a line of shoppers out the door waiting to pay! In addition, person after person kept asking "when is the next sale" and "how can I be a seller next time?" There was so much interest in fact that Christina decided to hold a second sale just eight weeks after the first one. The Kids Sale more than doubled in size between the first and second sales both in the number of consignors and the number of items in inventory. The Kids Sale events have turned out to be even more fun and exciting than Christina ever dreamed! She credits the community, her family and The Kids Sale volunteers for being the reason The Kids Sale has been such a wonderful community event.
The Kids Sale Mission:
To provide exceptional value and friendly service to our consignors and customers. To maintain a clean, well-organized event for buying and selling quality pre-owned merchandise. To help local families keep more of their hard earned money.
